Overview
Search has split in two. People still type queries into Google, but a growing share of them now ask ChatGPT or Perplexity and read the answer without ever clicking a blue link. Winning attention today means ranking in traditional search and being the source an AI model cites — and most teams are set up for neither, because both demand continuous work rather than a one-off project.
This feature runs that loop for you. The agent researches the keywords worth chasing, turns them into a measurable strategy, writes and ships the pages, meta and schema that serve it, measures what happened across Search Console, Google Analytics and AI answers, and reviews the whole thing on a schedule so the strategy keeps moving. SEO is the search half; GEO — generative engine optimisation — is the half aimed at being quoted by AI assistants.
Because the thing doing the measuring is also the thing that edits your site, a finding never dead-ends in a report. Spot a page slipping and the fix is the next message.
How it works
- Connect Search Console and Analytics with a consent link you approve — no credentials pass through the agent. Analytics access is read-only; Search Console access also allows the agent to submit your sitemap after you publish.
- The agent analyses your live site and proposes commercial-intent keywords with real search volume to track.
- You set an objective in plain language; the agent builds a strategy with measurable goals and recommended page actions.
- It drafts the pages, title tags, meta descriptions and structured data, lands them as drafts, and publishes on your approval.
- Performance is measured continuously and reviewed on a schedule, feeding a refreshed strategy for the next period.
What it covers
- Keyword research — discover commercial-intent terms with volume, and track their positions over time.
- Strategy — a stated objective with measurable targets and a two-week review cycle.
- Measurement — Search Console clicks, impressions, CTR and position, plus GA4 organic sessions by source and channel.
- AI citations — whether your pages are cited in ChatGPT and Perplexity answers for the terms you care about.
- Execution — generated pages, title tags, meta descriptions and schema (FAQ, Article, Breadcrumb and more), plus sitemap submission to Search Console so new pages are discovered sooner.
Optimising for AI answers (GEO)
Being cited by an AI assistant is not the same game as ranking first on Google, so GEO is treated as its own discipline. The agent structures content the way models prefer to quote it — clear question-and-answer blocks, defined terms, specific figures with sources, and machine-readable schema — then tracks whether your pages actually show up as citations in ChatGPT and Perplexity for your target questions, and adjusts when they do not.
The two halves reinforce each other: the structure and authority that earn an AI citation are largely the same signals that earn a strong organic ranking, so one body of work serves both.
Why teams use it
- Search and AI together — one programme that targets Google rankings and AI-answer citations at once.
- Strategy, not guesswork — a measurable objective with goals reviewed every fortnight.
- Executed end to end — from keyword to published page, meta and schema, then measured.
- Always on — measurement runs in the background and the strategy adapts without you chasing it.
Staying in control
Nothing is published behind your back. Content plans are drafted for review, pages land as drafts in your CMS, and going live is an explicit approval — the same rules as every other change. Generating a strategy or a batch of content plans takes a few minutes and uses credits, so the agent always confirms before running one.
You approve the Google connection yourself through a consent link, and no analytics credentials ever pass through the agent. Google Analytics access is read-only. Search Console access includes permission to submit and resubmit your sitemap when new or updated pages are published, so your changes are indexed sooner — no other Search Console settings are touched. Every figure in a report is pulled from the connected source rather than estimated, so it is a number you can stand behind.
Availability
SEO and GEO are included on Growth, Scale and Enterprise plans. Search and AI-citation measurement needs Google Search Console and Google Analytics connected under Integrations.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between SEO and GEO?
SEO (search engine optimisation) is about ranking in traditional search results like Google. GEO (generative engine optimisation) is about being cited as a source inside AI answers from tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity. They overlap heavily — strong structure and authority help both — but AI citations are tracked and optimised separately because being quoted in an answer is not the same as ranking first on a results page.
How do you measure citations in ChatGPT and Perplexity?
The agent checks, for the questions tied to your tracked keywords, whether your pages appear as cited sources in AI answers, and records that status alongside your Search Console positions. You see which terms you are winning in AI answers and which need work, next to your traditional ranking data.
What do you need access to?
Access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4, granted through a consent link you approve. Analytics is read-only. Search Console access also includes write permission, used for one purpose only: submitting your sitemap when new or updated pages are published. No credentials pass through the agent, and you choose which Search Console property and GA4 property to measure. Content and schema execution uses your existing CMS connection.
Will it publish pages automatically?
No. Keyword research and strategy do not change your site, and generated pages, meta and schema land as drafts for your review. Publishing is always a separate, explicit approval, so the agent can run the whole programme without anything going live until you say so. Once you do publish, your sitemap is resubmitted to Search Console so the new page is picked up quickly.
How often is the strategy reviewed?
Every fortnight by default. The agent reviews the last period against your goals, reports what moved, and proposes the next two weeks of actions — and you can ask for an ad-hoc review or a fresh strategy at any time, for instance after a big launch or a ranking change.
Can we get a client-ready report?
Yes. Reports come as an interactive dashboard beside the chat or as a branded PDF covering traffic, channels, keyword positions, AI-answer visibility and progress against your strategy goals — ideal for a monthly client review without assembling anything by hand.
